Great video! We have the same robot at our university, and we are currently looking for the gripper arm for the pen. Could you help us find this gripper arm, whether used or new? Thanks in advance!

What do you do if you can't dig a trench? We have a concrete sidewalk along the side of our home that meets the cement of the existing parge.

Scoring of each filling layer can also help with adhesion of the next layer. Good video for helping others tackle their foundation repairs.

Nice job, and thanks for sharing. Could you use fiber glass mesh tape to prevent future cracking or would this be unnecessary?

You have some pretty deep holes in part of the stem wall. I don't think you addressed the underlying problem. Once the stem wall starts spalling, the cause is from moisture getting to the rebar. Once the rebar starts oxidizing, it eventually will expand up to 5X its diameter or 2-2.5 inches which causes the stem wall to spall. Nice job, but you'll probably be back in 5-10 years doing it over again.

I'm having issues getting the pully wheel off of one end. the retainer pin is out and the set screw is out and I can spin it on the shaft but it is blocked on the very end as if there was a retainer ring but I can't see a ring.

Thank you for this video. I'm restoring a 1930's era delta jointer that came down to me from my grandfather. There were other tools like a table saw and a band saw, but I think the jointer is the only one that is really worth trying to use. Getting the bearings replaced blades installed/aligned was the most daunting task and this video really helps give me confidence in doing it right.

So I have a staircase just like this and I'd like to open up one side so that it would be an "open" stringer on that side. Would I be better off ripping out the whole staircase and starting again? Or just cutting out some of the existing stringer. My worry is that doing that will weaken the stringer.

    • @caicollver7097

Open such that you want to see the outside of closed stringer or that you want the tread to kind of poke past the outside of the stringer

Good video. You could build it upside down. May be easier, but you need to check to make sure it is square While assembling. Make sure the treads are tight at the top and precut the shims for ease of work. Also, install the bottom riser first with no dado.. It can be easier if you secure the skirt to a side wall and build in place. Don’t prebuild and attempt to install as one piece. It gets heavy and you will fight to get it in place unless you deduct 3/4” overall.

This was without a doubt, the biggest pain in the ass to do on my Delta 6" jointer. What I eventually did, after much frustration, was to put the entire cutter head in the freezer overnight. I then put the bearings in a plastic bag and put them in near boiling water for about 10-15 minutes (read about this technique somewhere on the internet). I was able to slip the bearing on by hand. It was amazing. To get the bearing holders on, I heated them with a torch until they were about 250-300 degrees F. They went on very easily after that.

If you take off the parging and you have some holes in your brick like you did, Aren’t you concerned about getting water into the basement when you washed it down with the hose?

Next time press green tape into the brick to give uou a straight line and clean line to keep the page mix off the brick. Use a spong and rub in a circular motion for finish coat. Add some concrete adhesive to the fill coat prior to finish coat of parging for strength. Other than that, good job !

I apply the green painter's tape, pressed firmly to the bottom row of brick and then apply a strip of duct tape over the green tape. The duct tape provides a durable protection from the mud and trowel nicks and with the painter's tape under it, it pulls off at the end with no glue residue left behind on the brick and a clean straight line.

to get no space empty in yor first put, you need to freeze your old bearing and use it over the new inserted as cap to tap in over in the way you tap with hammer this old and no the new one, if you do not freeze the old will got stuck in the bearing house too, freezing it you contracto some microns in order to mantain it freely. Cold and hot (50 or 60 C is sufficient never direct fire) make a rule in this kind of process. Use the contractions of the steel in becomes services is usefull
